A welcome from our Pastors – Michael and Marion Meyers
Warm Christian greetings in the precious name of Jesus! We want to welcome you to the life of our church, The River. Whether you are a new visitor or have recently become a Christian, The River will help strengthen you for everyday living.
At The River you will notice that we have five ‘loves’:
- We love to praise our Saviour, Jesus Christ, both for who He is and for what He has done for us
- We love to give because God’s greatest expression of love to mankind was to give us His Son, who in turn gave it all for us
- We love the Bible because it equips, empowers and releases us to live successful purpose-driven lives
- We love all peoples, nations, tribes and tongues and give them all an opportunity to give their lives to Christ – this is our highest endeavour
- Finally, we love to see God meet needs and heal the hurting through the person and power of His Spirit.
Christianity is about Christ and not about Christians
Christianity is about Christ and not about Christians because we are not perfect, but He is, and we know that He wants us to live the best and most rewarding life we can this side of Heaven. If it’s real people who live authentic Christian lives that you want to connect with then The River is your church. This is how we love to serve everyone in Exeter and in the area.
