Streams

At RLS your education is wrapped up in practical experience, as opposed to just classroom theory, taking YOU where your purpose in life is. In addition to the high level of teaching and cutting edge leadership theory that we present, is the practical experience from our 4 specialised streams:

• River School of Worship
• River Media School
• Marketplace Ministry
• Church Leadership

The purpose of the specialised streams is to focus your education and experience in the area that YOU are most gifted in and are called to, in order to fast-track you into leading within that sphere. The majority of Bible schools and leadership academy courses lump all the students together for their so-called ‘individual development’, meaning they actually  miss out on flourishing individually in their unique gifting and purpose. Our commitment to your success therefore allows YOU to specialise through the various projects and departments of the ministry and its projects that you will be leading in.

The River Leadership School Streams

1. River School of Worship. Working directly with worship team at The River, you’ll serve and lead part of the team through the year and learn about leadership and team management, the creative process, and the leading of worship in services.
2. River Media School. The River is a leader in media and digital engagement. You’ll work in our team learning how to lead people in a contemporary and relevant way in the 21st century through the various forms of social and digital media, the creative process while increasing your knowledge of media tools.
3. Marketplace ministry. This is our broadest stream for those called to lead in the secular marketplace. Whether as a teacher, business leader or lawyer,  this stream will equip you to influence your industry by placing you in a leadership position within our outward-facing community projects that work with local and national and international business.
4. Church Leadership. Those called to full time ministry will specialise in this stream. You will receive intensive training in ministry leadership both on the platform and beyond the platform. Working directly with Michael and Marion and the other pastors, you will be exposed to the realities of ministry and the people it is called to serve that Bible schools can never train you in.

Learning through experience and Labs

The stream that YOU choose will contain leadership experience through leading in that stream, and lab sessions where you will workshop and learn practically with immediate feedback.
